- To recognize cartoonists of the past, present and future in all areas of the industry. This includes cartoonists who work in all areas of visual communications.
- To provide education about the importance of cartooning in the history of the US, its positive influence on American cultur, and the part cartooning has played in American history including politics, fashions and trends.
- To encourage public recognition of cartooning as a wonderful form of art. This can be done with local chapter exhibits and working to make cartooning part of the art curriculum in our schools.
- To promote Cartoonists Day and Cartoon Appreciation Week in the schools. Schools could create activities in conjunction with these dates. Children love drawing cartoons, and this would be a wonderful opportunity for them to study cartooning.
